Part 1: Inception and Evolution
In the realm of automotive craftsmanship, there are those who not only repair vehicles but also transform them into expressions of art and innovation. Aaron Scagliotta, the visionary director behind Reneew Collision Repair Centre, is one such individual. With a lifelong passion for automobiles and an unwavering commitment to quality, Aaron's journey to becoming the owner of a cutting-edge repair centre has been nothing short of remarkable.
Aaron's love affair with cars began at an early age, nurtured by his father Basil Scagliotta, who owned and operated Gino's Panel and Paint in South Fremantle, Western Australia. As a young man, Aaron dove headfirst into the world of automotive repair, working alongside his father and immersing himself in the intricate art of restoring vehicles to their former glory. Over the years, his dedication and curiosity led him to gain extensive knowledge about a wide range of vehicles.
His personal garage became a testament to his evolving tastes and preferences. From high-performance HSV Holdens from General Motors to luxurious German marvels like the Mercedes-Benz C-Class C63 AMG, Aaron's collection reflected his eclectic appreciation for automotive excellence. His experiences with these vehicles not only enriched his technical knowledge but also fuelled his desire to push boundaries.
In February 2023, Aaron's dream took a bold step forward as the doors swung open at Reneew Collision Repair Centre in Bibra Lake, Western Australia. The culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and a burning entrepreneurial spirit, Reneew marked Aaron's transition from an expert repairer to a visionary business owner. This state-of-the-art facility, purpose-built for the repair of electric (EVs) and prestigious vehicles, was a testament to Aaron's unyielding commitment to progress and innovation in the Perth automotive repair industry.
But it wasn't just about business for Aaron. He has always been an enthusiast at heart, and he longed for a vehicle that not only aligned with his ethos but also resonated with his personal tastes. Enter the Tesla Model 3 Performance (M3P). This all-electric marvel captured his attention not only for its technological prowess but also for its potential as a canvas for his creative vision.
Purchasing the M3P was just the beginning. Aaron envisioned something beyond the stock beauty of the vehicle. He saw potential where others saw conformity. While he admitted that the M3P was undoubtedly the best car he had ever driven, he couldn't help but notice its unassuming and almost generic appearance. Moreover, its interior lacked the refined touch he had come to appreciate in his Mercedes-Benz.
With the skill and expertise honed over years of hands-on experience, Aaron and his team embarked on a journey to transform his Tesla Model 3 Performance into a reflection of his automotive philosophy. The process is meticulously documented, with a series of captivating photos capturing the gradual stripping down of the vehicle. These images offered a glimpse into the metamorphosis that was about to take place – a transformation that would imbue the M3P with a distinct personality and an undeniable sense of purpose.
As a teaser of what was to come, Aaron has also shared a video snippet showcasing one of his talented technicians painting intricate accents on the vehicle. The sight of skilled hands applying meticulous details to elements like brake calipers and sill guards hinted at the level of craftsmanship that Reneew Collision Repair Centre is known for. This is not merely a paint job; it is an artistic endeavour that celebrated the marriage of technology, engineering, and aesthetics.
In the subsequent parts of this blog series, we will delve deeper into the evolution of Aaron's Tesla Model 3 Performance project. From conceptualisation to execution, we will explore the challenges, triumphs, and the relentless pursuit of automotive excellence that defines Aaron Scagliotta's journey.
Stay tuned for Part 2, where we uncover the creative vision behind the customisation process and the inspiration that drives Aaron to push the boundaries of automotive design and craftsmanship.
